Who is Nevin Stoltz?
What are you, some kind of stalker? Just kidding. Thank you for wanting to learn more about who I am, where I came from, what my hopes and dreams are, and more.
growing up in THE GOLDEN AGE OF CARTOONS
From a young age I was drawn to entertainment in all it’s forms.
I grew up during the golden age of cartoons, spending my Saturday mornings and afternoons with the likes of Transformers, GI Joe, Gummi Bears, Gargoyles, Voltron, Duck Tales, Chip N Dales Rescue Rangers, Thundercats, Smurfs, He-Man, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and so many more. In my teenage years I discovered anime through shows like Robotech and Cowboy Bebop. I was instantly hooked and to this day still enjoy many types of anime from the over the top series like One Piece or JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, to the more magical creations of Miyazaki.
THE EVOLUTION OF A GAMER
My love for games was forged on the Atari 2600 with games like Pitfall, Pac-Man, and Asteroids. As the gaming systems evolved, so did I. In fact, I’ve played on almost every generation of gaming system and it’s been amazing to see the ways in which games have transformed over the decades from simple games like Pong and Donkey Kong to the expansive and immersive worlds of games like Horizon Zero Dawn and The Last of Us.
The days of reading game dialogue in speech bubbles are long gone. With games now being on par with blockbuster movies, I look forward to lending my voice to characters in games to help bring them to life and entertain gamers of all ages.
PLAYING DRESS UP ISN’T JUST FOR KIDS
I have always found joy in pretending to be someone or something else; I loved dressing up for Halloween, doing silly character and creature voices, cosplaying as my favorite characters from anime or cartoons, or attending the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire in full costume complete with an Old English accent. I joined theatre in elementary school and took part in countless productions all the way into high school.
Unfortunately, like life does to many of us, I got pulled in other directions. I went to college and ended up spending two decades of my life managing businesses. While my skills as an effective leader and my business acumen led me to a very successful career, there was always something missing…
A JACK OF ALL TRADES – TOO MANY HOBBIES!
I spent my free time exploring the creativity I longed for through art, graphic design, building models, woodworking and crafting, cosplay, producing music, performing at clubs and music festivals as a DJ, dancing, Gunpla, background acting, and much more. A true renaissance man, I am a jack of all trades who loves learning new things each and every day. I truly have too many hobbies and interests to list or keep track of.
IT’S NEVER TOO LATE TO FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS
After years of overwork and exhaustion and a rather traumatic experience in my personal life, I realized something had to change.
And so, at the age of 40, I decided it was finally time take my life into my own hands and do something that brings me joy. It was time to return to my true passion of entertainment; to bring to life the stories of others through the mediums that have brought me joy throughout my life.
